Go hiking by the scenic Scioto River or use the community boat launch for fishing, canoeing/kayaking; enjoy relaxing and feeding the ducks, geese & swans at Yoctangee Park Lake; visit the "Pump House Art Gallery and its exhibits; all this is an easy stroll or bike ride for your leisure-Don't forget your camera for lots of photo opps.

Lambert Lake Cottages sit on grounds rich in Ohio and U.S. History.
The cottages were built ca1915, presumably to house Calvary Officers at Camp Sherman(now Chillicothe V.A. Medical Center), a vast Army barracks and encampment during World War I.
Prior to that, the property dated as part of "Camp Bull" a military installation and "Prisoner of War" camp for captured British troops/sailors during the War of 1812.

These POW's were particularly associated with Admiral Perry's victories on the Great Lakes.

The eastern backdrop for the cottages is the Mount Logan Range, now the "Great Seal State Park".

A stylized painting depicting the range along with the rising sun, the Scioto River and many symbols of Ohio's birth was completed during the time of

Ohio's founding in 1803.

It became Ohio's Official Seal

The official seal was originally painted from the near-by "Adena Mansion & Gardens",

home of Thomas Worthington and his family

He remains one of Ohio's most notable contributors to it's founding. He participated it the drafting of the state constitution and chartering.

He also served as one of our first U.S. Senators and our 7th Governor.
